Eternal Vigilance: Paul Watson on the Front Lines

Paul Watson’s unshakeable conviction and perpetual willingness to risk his own life in defense of wildlife is unique in our time. A profile of his uncompromising tactics, the ferocity of the battles, the nature of the combatants, and the criticality of the outcome will provide an essential and inspiring documentation of one of the most important, and least understood, ecological battles.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

- Edmund Burke
In February 2005, we aim to investigate and document the Harp Seal hunt in north-eastern Canada, the largest single mass slaughter of any mammalian wildlife species in the world. The quota has been set at 350,000 seals, bringing the threat of extinction of the Harp Seal ever closer. Paul Watson has protested this annual event for twenty-seven years.
