About the Author and singer
KIPCHOGE SPENCER is a man who believes in "More bikes, fewer cars, more green spaces, fewer parking places, more paths, less pavement, a world without smog. Smokestackless factories, broken-down dams, free-flowing rivers, meaningful jobs, meaningful products, a new society that has outgrown consumerism." He dreams of a people motivated by beauty. To make this dream a reality, Kipchoge has written an extraordinary poem that chronicles his personal struggle to live close to his values and examine how far he's willing to go to create the world he imagines. In doing so, he inspires listeners with more than sixty practical choices that we confront on a daily basis, choices that have the simple power to either support the status quo or to revolutionize individual lives, communities, and our culture. |

In addition to radio broadcast, the "How Much" peace poem has been performed by Kipchoge and his band to audiences of over 15,000 people. Public feedback confirms the power of this unique message to transform aspects of the listeners subsequent behavior. These paradigm shifts are crucial if we are to save ourselves. |

As the Chilean poet PABLO NERUDA once said,
For once on the face of the earth Let's not speak in any language. Let's stop for one second Moving our arms so much If we were not so single-minded About keeping our lives moving And for once could do nothing, Perhaps a huge silence Might interrupt this sadness Of never understanding ourselves And of threatening ourselves with death. |
